One year on – Magdalene’s in-house marshalling and integration centre continues its rapid expansion.
Magdalene, the independent telecom services provider, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its in-house service delivery marshalling and integration centre. Launched in August 2008, and designed to provide outsourced network operation services for telcos, transport and utility companies, it has handled a substantial broadband roll-out for Alcatel-Lucent, worked with a major airport on hosting a mobile radio network and managed services for the Crystal Rig II Wind Farm in Scotland.
Based at Magdalene’s offices in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, the marshalling and integration centre was set up to provide a full scope of service delivery, logistics support and project implementation. With this centre Magdalene offers its customers managed stores, pick, pack and dispatch under full controlled conditions as well as complete build and test procedures and support for in service equipments - through reverse logistics, reconditioning, upgrading and redeployment services.
“We’ve seen a real upswing in activity since we launched the marshalling and integration centre last year,” said Anthony Crane, managing director, Magdalene. “Our in-house centre has been appreciated by customers for the end-to-end support we provide - this is reflected in the number of projects we’ve processed through the centre.”
Following a recent assessment by the British Standards Institute Magdalene’s scope of registration for ISO 9000:2000 was revised to include the marshalling and integration centre.
“We’ve also seen a 25% overall increase in headcount at Magdalene,” continued Crane. “Our business is growing stronger and stronger, particularly as telcos, transport and utility companies realise the benefits of outsourcing their solutions to someone like us who can fully manage the entire ongoing process.”
