As in any industry, competitiveness is key to remaining ahead of the game. This is also true for research and education where it’s vital for researchers and academics to have access to the most high-speed communications network. Research networking activity plays a big part in maintaining competitiveness and supporting economic development and for DANTE, a not-for-profit organisation owned by European NRENs (National Research and Education Networks) and working in cooperation with the European Commission, it’s even more important to demonstrate cost savings while being, at the same time, as efficient as possible. read more...

Magdalene deploys Telecommunications Access Solution for
ATC Data.
Magdalene has recently been involved in the successful deployment of a telecommunications access solution for the transmission of Air Traffic Control data. Magdalene was selected to provide a solution to meet the Operational Requirement. Having selected, developed and supplied the products, Magdalene utilized its Marshalling, Integration and Test Bed facilities to build and configure the products prior to site deployment, and were also on hand to assist with the commissioning of the solution.
Magdalene were pleased to assist in the task to design and deploy the required solution for Peel’s Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield and Liverpool John Lennon Airports. “Working to tight timescales, our solution engineering team advised on the initial equipment selection, our logistics department sourced the products, and our technical support engineers provided configuration, test and implementation services” explained Bernard Smart, General Manager at Magdalene Limited. With Magdalene’s company motto “Our People Make The Difference” in mind, Bernard reflected “Our highly competent engineering consultants have a broad range of experience in transmission and radio systems. They have benefited from attendance at technical workshops, resulting in official accreditation for Magdalene to provide training courses to its Customers.
