Magdalene supply Keymile equipment to Eurotunnel.
Magdalene previously delivered a major project to Eurotunnel, involving design, test and supply to renew the telecommunications infrastructure at both the UK and France ends of the channel tunnel.
Recently, Eurotunnel has selected Magdalene to provide additional UMUX equipment from Keymile. These products provide ‘multi-service’ telecommunications access and optical transport, for delivery of voice and data services for support of the operational requirements of the channel tunnel network.
Keith Lamport, Magdalene Sales Director, says: “These additional sales of the UMUX products demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of the Keymile solutions. As a services company, Magdalene is able to provide our expertise in Consultancy, Design, Sourcing, Implementation and Maintenance to ensure complete support for Eurotunnel’s requirements. Magdalene’s core competencies are complemented by our high calibre facilities such as our Marshalling and Integration Centre (MIC) and 24/7/365 Network Operations Centre (NOC).”
Eurotunnel holds the Concession until 2086 for the Channel Tunnel, the fastest, most reliable, easiest and most environmentally-friendly transport system for crossing the Strait of Dover.
These sustainable assets, combined with the expertises and inventiveness of teams committed to a process of continuous improvement, bolster Eurotunnel’s success, and have made it an essential operator in the cross-Channel market. Since1994, some 284 million passengers and more than 57 million vehicles (including 17 million trucks) have used the Tunnel, which has become a vital link between the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
In addition to developing its core business, the Group is using its expertise to expand its scope of action beyond the Tunnel, in its two primary business lines and areas of competence: infrastructure management and rail transport.
A stock for the future that places social responsibility at the centre of its strategy, Eurotunnel is building a binational group with long-term growth prospects based on the increasing impact of environmental challenges and whic will benefit from the long-term visibility inherent in infrastructure licensees, particularly in terms of recurrent cash flow.
