PMR Project Engineer

As a PMR Project Engineer, you will be office based and report to the PMR Team Leader and will have overall technical responsibility for the life of the projects assigned to you. The PMR Project Engineer will be expected to be included in the standby on call roster, supporting our major customers and may be called upon to act as a Product Specialist assisting the Sales team with quotations. This role will include an element of overseas travel.

Main responsibilities:

  • Providing all technical information to enable workshops to deliver the final engineered solution
  • Providing technical solutions for the integration of differing OEM equipment
  • Producing system dossiers for allocated projects including cabinet drawings and system configurations
  • Providing guidance for requested acceptance tests
  • Providing on site installation and commissioning assistance
  • Providing customer requested system health checks
  • Working in conjunction with the Sales team to evaluate the technical feasibility of a provided opportunity including identifying any risk
  • Providing technical assistance to the Sales team including technical presentations, demonstrations and drafting of customer requirement specifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a PMR environment
  • A technical knowledge of Tait and/or equivalent OEM products
  • An excellent knowledge of radio communications theory and practice
  • Knowledge of radio systems used by a variety of professional radio users
  • An appreciation of TCP/IP networking elements

Requirements:

  • HNC, HND or a degree in a relevant subject area

Location

The main place of work for this position will be our St Ives (Cambridgeshire) however you will be expected to travel from time to time so it is essential that all applicants have their own vehicle.
