Junior PMR Technician

-Technical Support Services-

As a Junior PMR Technician, you would be required to work within a workshop environment. Reporting to the workshop supervisor, you will be responsible for system builds right through to installation and commissioning for smaller projects and supporting colleagues on bigger builds. You will also be responsible for fault tracing, troubleshooting and the repair of radio products including portables, mobiles and repeaters.

 The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Developing and maintain customer relationships
  • System builds and testing from complex technical drawings
  • Site commissioning
  • Radio system fault tracing and rectification
  • Extensive troubleshooting to component level for both analogue and digital products
  • Troubleshooting and repairing high end radio products down to component levels including identifying electronic components and soldering as required
  • The proficient use of a communications analyser, electrical circuit trouble shooting and the operation of test equipment

Requirements:

  • Experience with RF communications and PMR equipment
  • National qualification or higher in electrical and electronic engineering
  • Experience with two-way radios and an overview of TCP / IP and networking concepts would be advantageous
  • Ability to go on call

 Location

The main place of work for this position will be our St Ives (Cambridgeshire) office, however you will be expected to travel from time to time so it is essential that all applicants have their own vehicle.
