First Line Maintenance Engineer

Magdalene has 200 employees over 3 offices in Cambridge, Belfast and Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Field Services Engineer you will be home-based, working on a weekly shift rota.

Specific responsibilities include;

  • Fault finding and resolution
  • Completion of site risk assessments, site visit reports and technical documentation
  • Responsibility of providing 1st Line Support
  • Troubleshooting of customer equipment (transmission, mobile networks, Datacomms, switching, PSTN/ADSL)
  • Street cabinet works
  • Configuring and testing of wireless access points and servers
  • Testing and troubleshooting CAT5 structured cabling
  • Testing and troubleshooting fibre optic cabling

 Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Fibre optic experience is essential for this role
  • A sound technical knowledge of multiple technologies and products
  • Good working knowledge of current telecom systems
  • The ability to install and pre-configure telecoms equipment
  • Competency in the use of power tools, hand tools and ladders
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft products, basic DOS commands and VT Software
